4TH DAY ORGANIZED
The second annual
meeting of the Anglican Fourth Day (A4D) met in Bedford, Texas at St. Vincent's Cathedral from Thursday, August 27th to Saturday
August 29th. Members of the Leadership Council approved Articles of Incorporation and By-laws for the newly formed Anglican
Fourth Day movement in the Anglican Province of North America which includes the U.S. and Canada.
The new Board met and elected Ken Herbst of Saxonburg, Pennsylvania
as President, Kat Murchison of Montgomery, Alabama as Vice President, Christine Miller of Bakersfield, California as Intercessor,
The Rev. Jim McCaslin of Jacksonville, Florida as Spiritual Advisor, and The Rev. John Nuzum of Leesburg, Virginia as Secretary.
The Board selected Ad Hoc Board members, The Rev. Kathleen Adams of Long Beach, California to serve as Treasurer and the Rev.
Dale Smith of North Hollywood, California to serve as a consultant for re-writing the Three Day Weekend talks, both clergy
andlay. Wicks Stephens, Esquire, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has agreed to serve as legal counsel.
The non-board Leadership Council members representing Fourth Day Organizations
from around the U.S. included: Jim Barnidge (FL), Larry Nichols (FL), The Rev. Dr. Tom Tirman (IN), Chuck Merritt (CA),The
Rev. James Guthrie (VA), Anne Sunquest (TX), The Rev. Ken Richards (CA), The Rev. Anne Richards (TX), The Rev. Ron Wheelock (MA), and Mary Lou Herbst (PA).
The National Anglican Fourth Day will be incorporated in the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and will be headquartered at the Provincial Office of the Anglican Church in North America in
Ambridge, PA.
