New Day Coming New Day Coming needs layout editor We are looking for help with the production of New Day Coming.
Specifically, we need a volunteer who is able to give three to four hours a month to help with the layout of the monthly epublication.
If you are interested, please contact Larry M. Nichols at lmnicho@aol.com Not
Receiving New Day Coming? Some 4th Dayers are telling us they did not receive the latest issue of New Day Coming, which was
published Nov. 1. New Day Coming, the official newsletter of the Anglican 4th Day Community in North Florida, South Georgia
and South Alabama, is published via the Internet on the 1st day of each month.
If you do not receive a copy, we’d
like you to do a couple of things: 1. Check your spam folder. If your computer decides that New Day Coming is spam, it will
divert it to your spam folder. 2. If New Day Coming has been diverted to your spam folder, you can retrieve it, but, unless
you change your spam settings, it will go there again and again. If neither of these solutions work for you, contact Skip
Cope at mailto:skip@c-cope.com..
Parish Coordinator’s Meeting The second meeting of
A4D Parish Coordinators will be February 24-25 at Advent Christian Village. The agenda and discussion topics for the meeting
are being developed, but they are expected to be a continuation and expansion of the coordinator’s first meeting in
August. The 4th Day Council will provide food and lodging for the meeting. More details will be published as they become available.
Green Palanca Chairman
Robin Hawkins of Christ Church Wakulla has been
named chairman of a council committee on Green Palanca. Her duties will be promoting and coordinating the collection of Green
Palanca from churches. The council is encouraging the use of cash (the “green” in Green Palanca) in
lieu of food palanca, which sometimes has a too short shelf life during the weekend and is not covered by pilgrim or team
fees.
Using money collected
from individuals and/or churches, teams are able to buy snacks/drinks as needed, control shortages and limit wasteful leftovers.
Checks made payable to Gulf Atlantic Diocese (GAD) with "A4D Green Palanca" on the memo line may be sent to A4D
Treasurer, Tiffie Mackoul, 1301 First Street, #308, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Robin may be contacted via e-mail
at rob.hawk@live.com.

4th Day And The Measure of Love
Roy Batterman gave the following witness talk at the Jacksonville
area Ultreya in March. He opened his talk by taking a tape measure and measuring the podium.) Do you know what I have just
done? Yes, I measured the podium.
This tape measure gives us a way to
understand and describe the size of things. Parents and doctors
will measure us to see how tall we are. A carpenter will measure a piece of lumber
in order to cut it accurately. A flooring salesman will measure a floor to determine
how much material is needed and how much it will cost to purchase and install. And did you know
that God has given us a tape measure of sorts in the creation? ...more
A4D Communion Set a memorial to
Bill Harkey Pilgrims and 4th Dayers attending
weekends and ultreyas in North Florida are often served communion using a unique communion set commissioned by the 4th Day
Council in honor of the Rev. William (Bill) Harkey, a former Council lay director, who died of in October 2008. The especially designed collection of two chalices, a large paten, two small patens, a covered bread bowl and two flagons
was created by renown potter Cristie Rogers who worked under the direction of Council Member Larry M. Nichols to create this
uniquely designed and colored collection. Each piece is inscribed with a memorial to Bill. Bill was a member
of New Grace Church in Fleming Island near Orange Park. His death at age 66 came four months to the day after his ordination
as a deacon at New Grace. As a long-time member of the Cursillo and the 4th Day communities in North
Florida, Bill was a tireless worker and served on 36 teams in a variety of positions beginning with No 19 in the Diocese of
Florida. He was rector of No. 34 (Abba Father) in the Diocese of Florida and Anglican 4th Day No. 1 (Is it I Lord?). He resigned
as lay director in order to be ordained a deacon. In
addition to Roberta, his wife of 42 years, Bill is survived by four children, a sister, three brothers and five grandchildren.
A son, Scott, preceded Bill in death in 2006 Communion Set

From the Lay Director...
Five Years of "Flying the Airplane While We Build It" The running
joke since this A4D movement began has been that we have been building our airplane while flying it. . . . Our A4D#10 weekends
later this month mark FIVE years of Anglican Fourth Day in our area.We have come a long way in those five years. As
our Diocese grows, the geographic area we cover has stretched into three states adding first, part of Georgia, and, now, part
of coastal Alabama. These changes offer both unique opportunities and challenges. The launching of our eNewsletter, New
Day Coming, will reach more than 500 brothers and sisters in Christ who have attended a Fourth Day weekend or have been to
another movement such as Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, Tres Dias, or Sunshineweekends. We hope that
this means of communicating will keep everyone up to date with what is going on in our Diocese as well as in the Province.
We would love to hear from you and look forward to seeing you soon at a weekend closing or an area Ultreya, also sometimes
referred to as R.O.A.R. (Reunion of our Anglican Region). Ultreya . . . Onward . . . Upward... Pat Mierse,Lay Director If you have questions about Anglican 4th Day,
please contact Pat Mierse, lay director of that A4D Council, at (904) 829-5813 (H) or (904) 910-6228 (C). You may e-mail her
at patmierse1@bellsouth.net. Questions may be rewritten or combined to meet the information needs of the A4D community.

A4D Council pays tribute to Everett Yarbrough By Jim Barnidge and Pat Mierse
Everett Yarbrough holds the processional cross crafted in
honor of his service to A4D by Bob Mullins (right). Everett is flanked by A4D Lay Director Pat Mierse (left) and his
wife, Marie. As
one of the founders of A4D and the first Lay Director in our area, Everett Yarbrough served with great dedication
to establish the movement in the new Province, in the Gulf Atlantic Diocese and at St. Peter's in Tallahassee. When
he recently decreased his level of involvement and resigned from the GAD A4D Council, his peers on the Council voted to dedicate
a processional cross in his honor for use on renewal weekends and A4D celebrations. Pat Mierse,
A4D Lay Director, made the presentation at Palm Sunday services at St. Peter's. The Rev. Eric Dudley, rector of St. Peter's,
prayed for Everett and his wife, Marie, and blessed the processional cross. Bob Mullins, a
talented wood carver from St. Peter's, crafted a beautiful Celtic cross, which is mounted on a staff. A small
plaque on the staff marks Everett's service to A4D. The Council sends its thanks
to Bob for sharing his talents and to Jim Barnidge for his help in making this presentation possible.
